Discovery to deploy, no handoffs. Here's the rhythm of working with a studio of one — and the work we won't take on.

Why bespoke

Operating systems for industries software forgot.

Real estate, contracts, HR, field operations — none of these are software-native industries. The people running them work from spreadsheets, WhatsApp, and dog-eared notebooks because the SaaS shelf doesn't reflect how the work actually happens.

Generic platforms force teams to flatten their workflow into something a product manager three time zones away thought was universal. Bespoke is what they need, but it's the hardest thing for them to buy. Our job is to sit alongside the operator, model the work as it already happens, and ship a system that respects it — schema to UI, infra to copy.

The engagement model

From discovery to deploy.

Most visitors haven't hired a one-person studio before. Here's exactly what the rhythm looks like.

  1. Discovery first

Before any code, a paid scoping week. We map workflows, identify the operational gaps, and produce a written build plan you own outright. If we don't move forward, you keep the plan.

  2. One person, end-to-end

The same team designs the schema, builds the UI, writes the API, and sets up the infra. No handoffs between specialists, no "that's not our layer."

  3. Weekly demo cadence

Friday demos on staging. 15 minutes, screen-share, no slides. You see exactly what shipped that week — no "trust us, it's coming" theatre.

  4. You own the code

Source, infrastructure runbooks, and operational docs transfer at the end. No vendor lock-in, no escrow nonsense. If you want to take it in-house, the handoff is the deliverable.

  5. Post-launch is included

Every engagement includes thirty days of post-launch support — bugs, small features, on-call for breakage. Beyond that, retainers are case-by-case.

  6. Project-scoped, not hourly

After the discovery week we agree on a fixed scope, price, and timeline. No surprise invoices. Scope changes get a written delta before any work starts.

What we won't take on

Honest disqualifiers.

Disqualifiers up front, so neither of us wastes a week finding out.

  • Token gigs or "just a small tweak." Minimum engagement is the scoping week.
  • Crypto, gambling, surveillance, or anything that hurts the user. Hard no.
  • Working through middlemen agencies. Direct client engagements only.
  • Hourly contracts. Pricing is project-scoped — see above.
  • NDA-before-conversation. Light NDAs at engagement start are fine; NDAs to talk about your project, no.
  • "Just clone X." We'll build what your operation needs, not a copy of a competitor.
